As women, we are conscious of what we eat and in what proportions, how much exercise we get and improving our appearance which all come naturally to us. However, knowing your body shape and type is basic in achieving better appearance.
The human body according to its anatomy is generally categorised into three body structures:
Are usually skinny, have below average weight for their height and have a high body metabolism.
Are bigger in appearance, possess more fat accumulation and have difficulty loosing weight.
Mesomorphs on the other hand possess qualities form both endomorphs and ectomorphs. They have larger bone structures like endomorphs and low body fat accumulation like ectomorphs.
With these three general body types in view, female body types are better explained under the following eight body types.
The Diamond Body Type
Your hips are broader than your shoulders and bust, your midsection is usually the largest part of your body. You have an undefined waistline. Your upper leg is a bit bulky and your lower legs are slender. You have correspondingly slender arms and have the tendency to add weight to your tummy before adding to any other part of your body.
The Spoon Body Type
Your hips are bigger than your bust and have a well defined waistline. This body type is referred to as the figure 8. Your lower legs and arms are also shapely and attractive. You have the tendency to add weight to your tummy first before adding to any other part of your body.
The Pear Body Type
This shape is often referred to as the triangle shape. You have a well defined waistline, good neckline and correspondingly slender arms and shoulders.
You have the tendency to add weight in your buttocks and legs before adding weight to your tummy.
The Inverted Triangle
Your upper body is proportionately larger than your lower body. You have big bust, broad shoulders and wide back. Your legs are well shaped and beautiful.
You have a subtle waistline, flat buttocks and slim hips. You also have the tendency to add weight in your upper body and stomach.
The Straight Body Type
Your hips and bust are balanced and your waist is not well defined. You have the tendency to add weight to your mid section first before adding weight to your arms and upper thighs. Your legs are well shaped and your buttocks is usually flat than round. This body type is the most common female body type.
The Hour Glass Body Type
Your hips and bust are well balanced and you have a well defined waistline. You have a beautiful side and front profile, rounded buttocks and rounded shoulders that align with your hips. Your legs are well shaped and proportionate to your upper body. This is the shape most women strife for.
The Top Hourglass Body Type
You have a well defined waistline that curves out into you hips, your bust is larger than your hips. Your shoulders align with your hips and your legs are shapely and align with your upper body.
The Oval Body Type
Your waist is undefined and the widest part of your frame. You have narrow hips, full midsection, large bust and flat buttocks. You have full face and full shorter neck. You are more likely to gain weight in your stomach, upper body, back and your legs are well shaped and slender.
